叶教授19827月毕业于原华南热带作物学院(现称海南大学),获农学学士学位;198512月获中国科学院昆明植物研究所硕士学位;19919月获比利时布鲁塞尔自由大学(VUB)博士学位。1991-2000年分别在德国马普育种研究所(MPIZ)、美国宾夕法尼亚州立大学(PSU)、美国冷泉港实验室(CSHL)和新加坡分子农业生物学学院(IMA)做博士后研究、访问学者和任研究员。2000-20049月分别在新加坡分子农业生物学学院(IMA)和新加坡分子与细胞生物学学院(IMCB)任生物技术研究经理,课题组长。200410月起在中国农业大学生物学院从事科研教学工作至今。2005年被聘为教育部长江学者奖励计划特聘教授。

 

教授的研究组长期注力于植物生殖发育分子遗传学研究,在雄配子体发育和授粉受精(包括花粉管生长)的遗传调控方面具有丰富的工作经验和很好的研究基础。近年来,在绒毡层细胞与小孢子母细胞互作调控雄配子体发育机制、花粉管生长中的细胞壁合成与修饰调控机制、花粉管萌发生长的基础代谢调控机制、花粉管内物质极性运输调控机制、花粉管与助细胞互作调控花粉管生长和精细胞释放的基因表达调控机制等方面取得过很好的研究结果,在Plant Cell, PLoS Genetics, Plant Journal, Plant Physiology, Molecular Plant等国际科学杂志上发表过多篇研究论文。
